Another excellent EBACE 2016 !
Eclipse and EAD Aerospace – an Eclipse company – have returned from another excellent EBACE, with one of the hot topics in the industry being aircraft connectivity after the high profile announcements of several global airlines deploying Ku- and Ka-band installations. With the EAD Aerospace SUMS solution and radome being displayed on the stand, in addition to a Honeywell JetWave fuselage mount antenna, the three days saw many visitors interested to learn more on how Eclipse can provide the best connectivity solutions to their aircraft.
The EAD Aerospace team were proud to be displaying their SUMS product which is currently being installed on A319, A330 and A340 airframes, all VIP configurations, with the first STC expected this summer.
The SUMS design allows it to be used on almost any airframe, without the need for heavy structural additions and with minimum intrusion to the aircraft structure. The primary focus for SUMS has been with the Honeywell JetWave fuselage mount antenna, however the modular approach to the design allows for compatibility with other Ku- or Ka-band antennas.
With the recent formation of AEROSATCOM, the joint-venture between Eclipse and NSSLGlobal, EBACE presented many enquiries from Head of State and government operated aircraft for airtime services.
As a distributor of Inmarsat’s new Global Xpress (GX), AEROSATCOM has access to the best possible commercial terms for the military and government sectors. This combined with the expertise from Eclipse in providing bespoke SATCOM solutions and EAD Aerospace with complex installations provides our customers with the comfort that they demand when committing to a SATCOM upgrade.
As is now becoming tradition at EBACE, the end of each day was welcomed by a glass or two of champagne with the full Eclipse & EAD Aerospace team and some of our customers and partners bringing a close to the day’s event. As always, we are grateful to those who visited our stand during the three days, and look forward to working with our customers and partners in bring the next generation of connectivity to your aircraft soon.
