Head of State Aircraft Equipped with Aero+ Flexibility Airborne Connectivity App
Enhanced App lets operators take control of the inflight connectivity experience

Eclipse announced today at EBACE (the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibit) that a European Head of State Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) is being equipped with an enhanced version of the company’s powerful Aero+ Flexibility airborne connectivity application. A member of the Aero+ Suite of applications, this app offers a range of important capabilities to aircraft operators and passengers.

“The Aero+ Flexibility app already allows executive jet aircraft network administrators to create various connectivity zones within the aircraft, monitor bandwidth usage, manage device network access and filter internet domains,” said Marc Pinault, CEO Eclipse. “The app can be used on any device, and offers a variety of optional capabilities specifically designed for large, long-range aircraft. For example, the payment portal option helps operators manage airtime costs. And to enhance the passenger connectivity experience, Aero+ Flexibility has a network optimization feature, and an automatic or manual network fail-safe, to avoid network drop-offs. In addition, it has an easy to configure and turn-on, built-in PBX which enables VoIP calling.”

The enhancements to the application include augmented firewall functionality and filtering for increased security, update blocking to avoid device updates while on the satellite-based internet, and refined bandwidth assignment controls for greater flexibility. Security is of the utmost importance, and with extensive experience supporting the rigorous requirements of military and government airborne communications systems, Eclipse provides solutions that meet the highest levels of security.

This Head of State aircraft which is due to roll-out at the end of Q2 will also have a server installed, and airtime provisioned by Eclipse.
